Copycat Blues Hog Honey Mustard BBQ Sauce

This sauce starts with the zesty taste of prepared mustard and finishes with the sweet taste of honey. The exotic blend of spices nurtures the natural flavors of smoked meats.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup prepared yellow mustard (French's)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp cane sugar
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp coarse black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp worchestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 drop vanilla extrac
Instructions
  1. Combine IngredientsPlace all ingredients in a large saucepan.
  2. HeatMix the ingredients together using a spoon over medium heat for a minute or so until the sugar dissolves and the sauce is nicely combined.
  3. SimmerBring to a simmer and continue to cook covered at a low temperature for approximately 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. CoolWhen this is ready, remove it from heat once the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency and allow it to cool.
  5. RefrigerateRefrigerate, covered, for up to two weeks.
